In 2019, Martket became one of the first 1,500 business members worldwide to join 1% for the Planet, committing to donate 1% of annual sales to certified environmental nonprofit organizations. The organization independently verifies our giving and carefully vets every eligible nonprofit to help ensure our contributions create meaningful environmental impact.
Founded by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for the Planet is a global organization that connects businesses and individuals with trusted environmental nonprofits, helping accelerate smart environmental giving. Together, its members have donated more than $225 million to environmental organizations around the world.
