Pursuing OEKO-TEX® STeP Certification

Working toward globally recognized standards for sustainable and socially responsible textile production.

Martket is committed to responsible production and is in the process of obtaining OEKO-TEX® STeP certification, a globally recognized standard for sustainable and socially responsible textile production. While our certification is still in progress, this step reflects our ongoing dedication to people and the planet.

What is OEKO-TEX® STeP?

The STeP (Sustainable Textile & Leather Production) certification sets high standards for both social and environmental responsibility in production facilities. It covers every stage of textile and leather manufacturing, as well as industrial laundries, ensuring companies work toward safer, fairer, and more sustainable production.

The certification focuses on:

  • Continuous improvement of production processes
  • Environmental and chemical management
  • Social responsibility and fair working conditions
  • Safety and protection for workers
  • Efficient use of resources

Why It Matters

STeP certification is not just a label. It represents a long-term commitment to responsible practices that benefit both people and the environment. By working toward this certification, we are ensuring that our production methods align with the highest global standards.

Strengthening Supply Chain Transparency

Key features that enhance traceability and accountability include:

  • Certification across all facility types in the textile supply chain, from fibre manufacturing to spinning, to garment construction and finishing.
  • Connection to a global network of more than 35,000 certified companies for easier sourcing of sustainable materials, chemicals, and business partners.
  • Access to the OEKO-TEX® Impact Calculator, a tool that measures carbon and water footprints and identifies opportunities to reduce environmental impact.
  • Eligibility to apply for the OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN product label once certification is complete.

Our Next Steps

We are actively working through the certification process and look forward to achieving OEKO-TEX® STeP certification soon. This milestone will mark another step in our journey toward creating safer, more sustainable products while supporting fair working conditions and reducing our environmental footprint.
